Welcome to the Sizewell C Development Consent Order (DCO) Document Portal
The planning application for a DCO to build and operate a new nuclear power station to the north of Sizewell B was submitted to the Planning Inspectorate on 27th May 2020. The application was examined by the Planning Inspectorate (PINS) between 14th April 2021 and 14th October 2021. The then Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy granted the DCO on 20th July 2022.
The proposed new power station, Sizewell C (SZC), will be capable of generating enough safe, low-carbon electricity to power about six million homes. Construction is currently expected to commence on site in January 2024.
This portal holds copies of planning related documentation under three tabs:
Documents in Schedule 23 of the granted DCO.
Additional applications to discharge the DCO planning conditions (Requirements) which in some cases, supersede the Certified Documents. Plus, approved documents from any separate planning applications.
Original application documentation SZC submitted to PINS on 27th May 2020. (Largely superseded by revisions during the DCO examination.)
